Terms & Conditions (SiL 1-to-1 Live Online Tutorial’s Booking Platform)

TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

1. Overview
   These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the SiL 1-to-1 Online Tutorials Booking Platform (“Platform”) operated by Sharing is Learning Limited (“SiL”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). By booking a tutorial session through our Platform, you (the parent or legal guardian, referred to as “you”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using the Platform.

    

2. Booking Process

• Tutorials are available for students in Year 1 to Year 9 and cover English, Mathematics, and Science.
• Tutorial sessions are offered in two durations: 30 minutes or 1 hour.
• Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the selected session time.
• Parents must complete a booking form and provide required details: Name and Email (compulsory); WhatsApp number and Remarks (optional).
• Payment is required at the time of booking. Sessions will not be processed or held without payment.

3. Tutor Allocation

• All tutors are UK-based, qualified, and vetted in accordance with UK government standards to work with children both online and offline.
• SiL will assign tutors based on subject specialism and availability. While we strive to match every student with the most suitable tutor, we do not guarantee personal preferences unless pre-arranged/agreed in writing.

4. Confirmation and Follow-up

• Once payment is received, an auto-confirmation email will be sent to the parent indicating the session is pending approval.
• The SiL team will review and confirm bookings within 12–16 hours, followed by a confirmation email.
• Parents will also receive a separate email with Zoom/Google Meet details, and where applicable, pre-task materials or follow-up assignments.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

• Cancellations must be requested no less than 24 hours before the scheduled session time via email to Hi@SharingisLearning.com.
• Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will not be eligible for a refund or reschedule, except under exceptional circumstances, at SiL’s sole discretion.
• Rescheduling is subject to tutor availability and must follow the same 48-hour advance rule for new bookings.

6. Student Behaviour and Parental Responsibility

• Parents must ensure that students attend their scheduled sessions on time and with a device suitable for live video sessions.
• Disruptive behaviour or misconduct during tutorials may result in session termination without refund.

7. Intellectual Property

• All learning materials provided are designed by the SiL Team and are for individual student use only.
• Any unauthorised distribution, copying, or sharing of SiL materials is strictly prohibited.

8. Limitation of Liability

• SiL shall not be held liable for technical issues arising from the user’s internet connection or hardware during a session.
• We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel sessions due to unforeseen tutor unavailability.
• SiL shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform or tutorial sessions.

9. Amendments to Terms

• SiL reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of such changes.

 

REFUND POLICY

1. Refund Eligibility

• Full refunds are available only for sessions cancelled by SiL or sessions cancelled by parents at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled time.
• Refunds will not be issued for no-shows, late cancellations (less than 24 hours), or dissatisfaction with tutor teaching style.

2. Refund Process

• Approved refunds will be processed to the original method of payment within 5–10 business days.
• For any refund request, please email Hi@SharingisLearning.com with your name, session details, and reason for cancellation.

3. Rescheduling in Lieu of Refund

• Where applicable, SiL may offer a reschedule instead of a refund, subject to availability and at our discretion.

 

PRIVACY POLICY

1. Information Collection We collect the following information:

• Parent’s Name and Email (required)
• Optional: WhatsApp number and notes/remarks
• Booking selections including subject, year level, session duration, and time preferences
• Diagnostic test results and session progress notes for personalisation of learning plans

2. How We Use Your Information

• To confirm, manage, and deliver tutorial sessions
• To communicate Zoom/Google Meet links and lesson materials
• To personalise learning content and track student progress
• For administrative and internal record-keeping purposes

3. Data Sharing

• Your data will never be sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
• Tutor access is restricted to student-related session details only.
• SiL works with secure third-party payment and email systems to process bookings and communications.

4. Data Protection

• All data is stored securely in compliance with UK GDPR regulations.
• You have the right to request access, rectification, or deletion of your personal data by contacting Hi@SharingisLearning.com.

5. Use of Third-Party Services & Recording

• Zoom or Google Meet links will be used for live sessions. These platforms have their own privacy policies, which users are encouraged to review. Please note that the tutorial sessions will be recorded for safeguarding and quality control; should we use any of the snapshots or recording in the near future for marketing purposes, we will blur the image of the students so that their identities will remain unknown. In case there is really a need for a recording to be shown as a sample/reference where student’s image has to be included, our team will seek the consent from the parents/guardians in advance.

6. Updates to This Policy

• SiL reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via our website.
